WHY COLLEGE?

   Now that I am graduated I get the question "what college are you going to?"... When I reply "Well, I have grown up working at my family's Martial arts school and I would like to run my own school some day.  And there's no college for that..."  They say "well you can get a business degree" And I say " well I know how to run an office, I have been helping my mom since I was 7, now I do it on my own. I also know how to run a class. I could run my own school right now. I just don't see a point in college." Then I get the " Uh huh......" Like, not going to college is a lack of ambition or I need a crash-course in how the world works...       
  After having had this conversation with the bank teller the other day, (I have known her for a while) she said " Hmm. I didn't expect that from you..." as she looked sideways at me I said " well what did you expect?", She replied " I don't know, I just thought with the way you carried yourself, that you were more independent than that." I replied " I am independent. I don't know what you mean..."  She said "well you know, you just seemed like the kind of person that did her own thing."
 At that point, I understood that she was saying, if I do what my parents do, I am not independent.  Then I knew I was going nowhere with the conversation, and that I needed to politely disagree, and tell her to have a good afternoon.
  I have learned through endless conversations over this subject in the past year, that the world looks at a person who goes to college as a well-rounded person. Someone who deliberately chooses not to go to college is looked down upon. And if you say that you don't have the money for college, people look down on your parents. Now if you are home-schooled and don't go to college, you are automatically considered sheltered. (0=   
  Now I ask you, why is college necessary for a good life? Does college change the person that God has made me?   
  When you read the beginning of this post, were you the person who thinks college is the most obvious step that I should take? If I were having that conversation with you, would you encourage me to reconsider, judge me without saying anything, or would you support me in my decision?    
  Why is it that if I told you that I was living with my boyfriend, you would not say a thing, but I tell you I don't want to go to college and you tell me to reconsider...?  Think about it. Get your priorities straight! Read your Bible every day for 12 years, get a good mentor, and then come back and talk to me about my life.... (0:
  

Miss goody two shoes

   
            Hi,  my name is 'Miss Goodie Two Shoes'.  This is the name I get called most of the time.  I take it as a compliment.  I don't do things the way most girls do.  If you are a boy you will not be able to get to know me if you are a flirt. If you are a space-invading flirty boy the only thing you will get to know is the back of my hand.  I don't tolerate boys who invade my personal space bubble. Plain and simple.   I have boundaries and will let you know if you cross them....  Hence, the the nick-name 'Goodie Two Shoes'.  This does not make me odd in the sight of my family, friends and even acquaintances.  I am... "normal"...   as they say. =P   In everyday life, at work and at church,  every one around me respects my boundaries.   I only have to make them known.  Don't think that telling a boy "hands off"  is rude.  You have to be confident so they feel uncomfortable - not you!!!    
     I will not waste my heart. And I will not destroy the gift God gave me to share only with my husband.   I am going to get a man who loves me for my love of Jesus.  I will not have to FLIRT for him to notice me.   God is going to bring us together spiritually first.  Physical attraction will come later.   
     If you are seeking God's will in your life He will give you the most ROMANTIC courtship in the world!   I BELIEVE IN ARRANGED MARRIAGE!!!!   My FATHER IN HEAVEN is going to ARRANGE MY MARRIAGE! (0=     
     I am praying that God will give me a man that will bring me closer to Him, that God will help me to be pure, and that my future husband will be pure as well.

BLACK AND WHITE... NO GREY

     You cannot read the Bible if you don't believe it's true.  You will not grow in your Christian walk if you just pick the parts of the Bible you WANT to believe or think are relevant to society today.    Yes it is good to read your Bible, and yes you should take from it what you can, but PLEASE!  You have to take it ALL in!!!  

     I will not tell you it is easy in this day and age to obey everything God teaches and still be accepted.   But if you think about it, do we really want to be excepted?... If you are accepted than you are like the world.  Do you want to be like the world? that's a good question. My answer is no.  I will not be like the world.  Does that mean I am "strange"?   What is strange?...   Well strange in the sense of the world is technically what I am.      

    I read my Bible every day.  And that thing is HUGE!  (0=   So as you can imagine there are a lot of things that God teaches us to do.  If you say that anything the Bible says is "TOO EXTREME" for our time, you are lying to yourself.   God IS time.   He sees everything before it happens. Do you think  He would write a book that only applies to one time period? Uh, I think the answer is obvious.   Today is a day of excuses. And that's that. God says it is better to never receive the Lord than to receive Him and go back to a sinful life like nothing happened.  No, I don't mean we cannot ever sin again once we are Christians. OBVIOUSLY!  (:   No one is perfect. But to sin without repentance once you are aware of that sin... that is what I am talking about!   He says it is like "a dog returning to his vomit"... Gross right? Just repeating the Bible!  :op     But it's true.  There is black, and there is white.  We need to be constantly checking ourselves to make sure we know which side we are on.  To be in the grey is to be in sin.

It's only embarrassing if you make it.

     Why do you hide?   Why is it so scary to be who you are?  The CREATOR OF THE UNIVERSE is with you!!!   You have no reason to be embarrassed!   Yes you are different!  Yes you are strong!  Yes you are going to Heaven!  You are not doing something wrong if you make someone feel bad because you talk about God. They would rather you just not talk about Him.     But I say, you are doing something wrong if you do not talk about Him!  What if we all just shut our mouths... What if everyone just stopped sharing Jesus. If we all just gave up like they told us to then I would not be a Christian.  You would not be a Christian.  No one would go to Heaven because we would be oblivious to the fact that there was one!!!!    Do you get it?!      God says to share the good news with the world. THE WORLD!!!   We were sent here on a mission.   To tell the world about Jesus.    So I will pray in public, I will say Jesus name in public,  and you will know I am a Christian in the first conversation you have with me!  
     We need to be outspoken!  We are all missionaries!  You do not have to leave the country to share Jesus with someone you have never met before....  Just be ready.  God will put someone in your path if you are open to sharing Him.   My friend received Jesus alone at home one night after I told her she had to ask Him to come in to her heart before she could go to Heaven.  No one told her before!  She had no idea what being a Christian meant.   All I did was ask her if she ever asked Jesus into her heart...    Shes now my best friend and sister.    Be a missionary!   It's only embarrassing if you make it. 

 I used to be afraid to pray in public.  But I realized, God will be there if you ask for His help.  Now I pray all the time.  My friends and I will stand in the movie theater in a circle and pray one by one. Whats the worst that could happen?   People stare!!!  OH NO!!!    It's only embarrassing if you make it.  (=

Open the Door

     When you read the Bible you are opening the door for God to work in your life. People say "why does God let bad things happen?!"  If you would read your Bible you would know that God gave us free will. We make our own decisions. God does not have strings attached to us running this world like a gigantic puppet show! (:  The angels look at us in awe because because of our free will!  

     Does that mean God cannot work Miracles?  No!  God has a powerful love that can change lives! His hand could be the difference between life and death! I am living proof!!! Do you think that when my family's truck and 30 ft. trailer rolled 2 times into the median going 45 mph down the freeway, that God did not have a hand in saving my family from death?!?  As our trailer screeched back and fourth behind us, whipping our truck across both lanes of traffic... We were screaming JESUS NAME! 

      I have experienced God's powerful hand. As we rode in the ambulance because my dad had a very large, deep cut on his head from the top of the truck, my mom called as many people as she could to ask them to prey as my brother and I prayed out  loud for God's help. That is how God works in your life! WE, need to ASK for His help. Then, ONLY then will He change things...

   My name is Grace. My friends call me Gracie. I am a 17 year old girl with a passion for God's truth in my life. I believe the only way to know God's truth, is by reading my Bible and praying EVERY DAY!  Sounds impossible doesn't it...  I am proof that it's not!   

   God made me with a plan. I am here to fulfill that plan. If I ignore it or tell myself  "That's too extreme for this day and age" I could possibly be saying no to God's plan for my life. 

    I started this blog because I am a very outspoken person, and I think that could be a gift that God gave me... 

   SO! If you are a young girl striving to do Gods work,  a parent or boy who needs a reference to share with a girl  in his life who needs good a roll model, that's what I am here for!  (0:  

    I want to share the information my family and I have accumulated over the years of reading our bibles. 

    I AM EXTREME!  Do not expect froo froo!   The only froo froo I have is in my hair! :oD Extreme is just a word the world uses to make us feel wrong about what we believe. What I believe is God-breathed!!! What I believe is not common in this day in age.  Christians call me "un-Christian" and tell me I need to be more "Loving"! If you really think that letting my family in CHRIST live in SIN without trying to help is what LOVE IS, you and I are living in two different WORLDS!!!!
